Utensil Study No. 4 - Mixing Spoons
Price: €18,00

Made from olive wood or another local hardwood, these spoons reveal the quiet elegance of North African domestic craft.

The pale grey patina suggests long use and washing — olive wood darkens with oil and age, and when repeatedly washed and dried, it develops this soft, matte surface.

Each spoon was carved from a single piece of wood, with small imperfections and asymmetry showing the maker’s hand. Such spoons were used daily, often reserved for specific dishes like semolina or harissa preparation, and passed down for years. They were valued as durable companions of domestic life.

Sculptural in their simplicity, they can be displayed laid flat or mounted on a wall, where their forms evoke both function and quiet beauty.
